Common questions

What jurisdictions ask us first.

Does Connect replace our current records, or import them?

Both. Your existing records and historical program data are brought into Connect during onboarding, so you keep your continuity instead of starting over.

How long does onboarding take?

It depends on your programs and data. Setup is guided by the CityGreen team end to end — schedule a consultation and we will scope a timeline for your city.

Is our data separate from other jurisdictions?

Yes. Every jurisdiction’s records are isolated and access-controlled — your staff, your consultants, and your haulers each see exactly what their role allows.

What does it cost?

Pricing scales with the size of your jurisdiction and the programs you run. A consultation gets you a scoped recommendation and a straight answer on cost — no obligation.

Who is CityGreen Connect for?

California jurisdictions subject to SB 1383 — cities, counties, and special districts that provide solid waste collection service — along with the haulers and consultants who work with them.

We already track this in spreadsheets. What actually changes?

Two things. The record stops depending on the person who built the spreadsheet, and related records stay linked — a complaint, the inspection it triggered, the violation issued, and the resolution are one case rather than four files. That link is what compliance reviews ask about and what folders cannot hold.

Can our haulers submit data directly?

Yes. Haulers submit collected tonnage, customer compliance, education and outreach distribution, and construction and demolition data through structured forms tied to your jurisdiction, so it arrives attributed rather than as a spreadsheet to reconcile.

Our hauler serves several cities. Does their data get mixed up?

No. Submissions from a hauler serving multiple jurisdictions are attributed to the correct jurisdiction, so shared-hauler tonnage does not merge across the cities they serve.

Can our consultants access our data?

Yes, with explicitly granted access. Consultant access is managed per jurisdiction and can be granted and revoked, so an outside consultant sees what you have given them and nothing else.

Does it work in the field?

Yes. Inspectors capture findings and photos on a phone against the right record, and the office tracker reflects them without anyone re-keying paper forms.

Can we start with one program instead of everything at once?

Most jurisdictions do start somewhere specific — usually the Implementation Record or inspections — and expand from there. What makes sense first depends on where your gaps are, which is what a consultation is for.

How does Connect help with the August 1 annual report?

By making it an act of reading rather than assembly. Hauler tonnage, inspections, route reviews, education, and procurement are captured as they happen, so the figures the report needs already exist when the deadline arrives.

Is Connect only useful for SB 1383?

SB 1383 is what most jurisdictions come for, but the platform covers solid waste program management more broadly — complaints, hauler oversight, self-haul permits, construction and demolition, and reporting that outlives any single regulation.

How do we get started?

Schedule a consultation. CityGreen will assess where your programs stand and recommend next steps — there is no obligation, and no self-serve signup to work around first.
